Possible Challenges
1) Environmental Impact
The first possible challenge for One Faber Group concerns the impact on the environment by operating such tourist attractions. These impacts include namely pollution and disturbance to natural wildlife. By operating One Faber Peak and the cable car, there needs to be consideration in regards to the conservation and protection of the ecosystem and wildlife on Mount Faber. Questions such as will the animals feel threatened or will their homes be damaged and destroyed, need to be answered.
This also goes for Wings of Time. The fact that Wings of Time is a open sea show, is fascinating but at time, even more worrying. Will chemicals that are part of the show's production, be tossed into open sea and damage the wildlife that lives in it? The management of One Faber Group has to find ways and solutions to operate its attractions in a environmentally friendly manner that makes the attractions sustainable.
2) Product Life-Cycle
Arguably one of the greatest challenge for not just One Faber Group but almost every attraction in the world, would be its product life-cycle. Most of One Faber Group's attractions have matured and reached the stage of stagnation. If nothing is done to relaunch these attractions in order to restart the product life-cycle, these attractions may start to see a decline in visitorship and revenue. Relaunches can include changing the core of the attraction of development of the product by changing parts of it or enhancing the product in order to reintroducing the attraction to its visitors and maintain the interest and demand for the attraction.3) Characteristics of Attractions of Service Products
As to every other service product, there is a special set of characteristics that is unique to it. These characteristics make the process of producing the product even more challenging. For example, the characteristic of variability. Different service staff on different parts of the day may produce different levels of service qualities. This may be due to energy levels as the day passes, mood, or other variables. However, all these do not matter to the guest as bad service means bad service, and it reflects badly on the entire organisation. One Faber Group must find ways to solve this problem of variability as the staff involved in producing and delivering the product are part of the product itself. Solutions can include proper and comprehensive training, protocols to ensure staff attitudes and behaviors and monitored as not to affect their quality of service.
Another example would be the characteristic of perishability. This means that the product is produced and consumed at the same time, and cannot be stored for the future. If there is an empty cable car cabin, or a Wings of Time show that is not filled up with guests, it translates to revenue lost. And because of this, One Faber Group is in a position where they must make sure there is constant visitorship to their attractions through either price adjustment strategies, promotions, or special events. All of those are done to reduce the problem of perishability.
